Organize Books

Organize a Home

Find everything you need to organize both your home and yourself.

You'll discover that before your child is born that you have already received and probably bought them some toys. As the years pass you'll suddenly discover that they have so many that it is rather out of hand. Organizing toys takes less time than you may think though.

How to Organize Toys

Choose storage pieces that cater to your child's height and reserve high vertical storage for toys that are not played with on a daily basis and any toy activities that take adult supervision. Stuffed animals for their weight often find themselves staying neat in a high corner. With crafts and board games it is better to have them stay out of reach until you are able to assist your child with them.

If your child has a lot of toys it is very important to assign a place for everything. Whether it be a toy box or shelf, this will make cleaning up go by quicker as well as keep all of the toys looking nice and organized. Don't stress about lining everything up perfectly at the end of the day as long as the toys end up in a general area you can call the clean up good, this sort of thinking will make it easier for your child to help clean up too.

When choosing toy organizers for your kid's room keep in mind that young children are very "out of sight, out of mind" thinkers. Meaning that all of the toys that are put into drawers or boxes are less likely going to be played with. This means that you want to get this storage for things that are not played with as much, or rather are toys that are better to be played with when you are around, like puzzles, crayons, play-doh, etc. This also means that toys that are safe for your child to play with on their own should be placed in storage that is at their eye-level and out in the open.

Both of the toy organizers shown on this page can be found at www.organize.com As your child's toys amount expands due to gifts consider donating a toy that no longer interests your child, with their permission of course, for every new toy that comes in. This in the long run will help you to keep their room organized for many years.

When their room is organized, and better yet when their toys are organized, your child will want to play in their room so much more and you will find that you will enjoy cleaning up your child's room more when every toy has a place where it belongs and that the finished look is very nice, neat and organized.
