Organize a Home

Find everything you need to organize both your home and yourself.

There are so many good reasons why it is important to organize your bills. When you are able to organize your bills you know that you won't lose any of them and most importantly they will be paid on time.

How to Organize Bills

When it comes time to organize your bills the best method is to sort them by either the day that they are due or by the day that you have to pay them. You can do this by using a bill organizer or an organizer that works well to store bills in.

One of the best ways to sort and organize your monthly bills is to keep everything in the envelope, of course you can open it though, and to write the day that bill is due on the outside of the envelope. If you would rather write the day that you have to pay the bill, that will work well too. Then sort the envelopes of bills by the dates you've written, so that the earliest day is always in front. If you use this method feel free to write other information that you would like to display on the outside of the envelops, such as the amount that the bill is for.

Taking this method a step further you can go ahead and feel out the information needed on the bill slip that you will send, place a stamp on the envelope that you will be sending it in as well as the check that you will use to pay the bill and keep it in the original envelope that you are writing the date and possibly more information on. This way when the day arrives to pay the bill all you have to do is double check everything is in order and seal the envelope and send it off. If you rather wait until the day that you pay the bill to fill out everything try and keep everything you'll need (pen, stamps, etc) near your bills.

When you pay a bill keep the envelope that you've written date on and write down the date that you paid it and the number on the check that you used to pay it, (or confirmation number if you have paid the bill online) and place it in the back of the bill organizer. At the end of the month you'll have all the information you need to write on the remaining pieces paper that you have of your bill statement before you file it.

You could certainly add the information to the bill statements right after you pay the bill. Place the envelope in the back of the sorted bills. This way when it is the end of the month and it is time to file your bill statements away you will have all of the information that you need to record, or will have already recorded anything that you need to and can quickly place each bill statement in its appropriate folder.
